Parents, Guardians, & Students:
Today in class, your child was handed a Jamba Juice Card fundraiser sheet. Fundraising is completely optional, but encouraged for those students who want to earn money for their trips. We do two types of fundraisers here at CVHS in Orchestra. One type is our general fundraiser in which profits benefit the entire program/all of the students. These fundraisers are our car washes and restaurant nights. We also do individual fundraisers such as Jamba Juice Cards, Butterbraids, Gold Canyon Candles and so forth where the profits directly and individually benefit your child. Additionally, the profits, if not used, rollover from school year to school year. So, for example, if your child is in Concert Orchestra and sells Jamba Juice cards, their profits can be used for next year’s trip in Chamber/Symphonic Strings.
Jamba Juice cards are $10 and customers can pay for them via cash or check made out to CVHS OPO. Students receive $5 profit from each card they sell that can go towards trips. The Jamba Juice Cards are “Buy one, get one free” cards. You can buy a drink at Jamba Juice and get one free up to 6 times. Ultimately, you get 12 Jamba Juice drinks for $10. The cards do not have an expiration date.
If your child is currently in Chamber or Symphonic Strings, we are planning to go to Anaheim, California on Thursday, March 28th-Saturday, March 30th. The trip will cost no more than $600 and I always try to keep the price as minimal as possible. The price is dependent upon how many students sign up among various other things. Students in Chamber and Symphonic Strings will attend a LA Philharmonic Concert (Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin), perform at Disneyland, perform and work with a clinician at the National Music in the Parks Festival, and of course, students get to have some fun at Disneyland/California Adventures as well. More details about this trip will be sent out in the next month.
Thank you,
Mrs. Payne
