CVHS Orchestra Concert – Oct 2 @ 7 PM

A few reminders as we prepare for our concert tomorrow night.

 Student Call Time: 6:15 PM

Performance Time: 7:00 PM, Doors will open at 6:30 PM

Please do your best to make sure that your child arrives at our dress rehearsal/check in time of 6:15 PM. This allows adequate time for us to carefully tune and prepare for our performance. Your child should arrive fully dressed (unless they are coming from a school sport and have notified me before hand). All students are expected to remain for the entirety of the performance.

Tomorrow night, we will be kicking off our LuLaRoe Pop-Up Botique Fundraiser. Please take a moment and look at new fashionable pieces to add to your wardrobe. Proceeds will benefit the Orchestra program and will be matched by LuLaRoe. You can find more details on the attached flyer. Additionally,  you can even begin shopping and looking at the inventory tonight using the link below:

Please make sure that you join us for our concert reception in the cafeteria following the concert. We will have cookies, water, and butterbraid samples (our next fundraiser).

Lastly, congratulations to our wonderful students here at CVHS. Last Friday, all three ensembles performed in the ABODA Fall Orchestra Festival. The students worked incredibly hard this quarter and their hard work paid off. Our ensembles were given these ratings by the judges:

Symphonic Strings: Superior with Distinction (the highest rating that you can receive at festival)

Chamber Orchestra: Excellent

Concert Orchestra: Superior with Distinction

Additionally, I had 50 student helpers who assisted me in running the festival. During the day, student helpers hosted 17 schools at our festival. One director took the time to compliment our students on a job well done. Here is what one director emailed our principal and myself after our festival:

“Your students were responsive and helpful, they made sure our students knew where to go and what to do.

Thank you to you and your students for all of the attentiveness and care in hosting an excellent Festival.”

I really truly believe we have some of the best students here at CVHS! Way to go students!

Parents, thank you for your continued support of our wonderful orchestra program here at CVHS. I look forward to yet another great performance tomorrow night. If you should have any questions, please email me at crystal.payne@gilbertschools.net
