Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Strings Fundraiser: Car Wash, September 7
by on August 23, 2019 in Booster Post Fundraiser Mark Your Calendar

Hello Orchestra Parents,

As you know, this year Symphonic Strings is planning a trip to Washington D.C. and Chamber Orchestra is planning a trip to California. To help cover the cost of these trips, we will be holding two types of fundraising opportunities: Some fundraisers will reduce trip fees for every student and others will give students the opportunity to raise money to cover some of their individual trip fees. (For clarification, please read the information below.)

Our first fundraiser will be a car wash on September 7th, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the CVS on Warner and Lindsay. Students will be given tickets to sell ahead of time to raise funds for their individual accounts. All money donated on the day of the car wash will go into the general fund.

Mrs. Payne will pass out pre-sale tickets to all students who request them and keep track of how many each student takes. (Your student must return any unsold tickets.) This is a great opportunity for your student to raise money for his/her trip!

Symphonic Strings and Chamber Orchestra students will be asked to sign up to work shifts at the car wash. We will also need a few parent volunteers to help chaperone and at the very end of the car wash, we need 3 parents to help wash and dry bags of towels to be returned sometime the following week (these can just be dropped off in the office). Explanation of Fundraisers

General fund fundraisers: Funds are collected from a whole group and individual students are NOT asked to sell a product. Examples include restaurant nights and ticket sales at concerts. These funds help bring down the cost for all students or help pay other expenses such as new music, instruments, and coaching.

Individual fund fundraisers: Individual students sell a product to family and friends and the profit from those sales goes directly into the individual student’s account to help pay that student’s fees. Examples include the Gold Canyon Candles and Butterbraids fundraisers.
